There's no denying that "The Great Gatsby," directed by Baz Lurhmann, is one of the hit movies of this season (possibly, the year!). I guess I'm a little biased considering I'm a die-hard F. Scott Fitzgerald fan. But after seeing this movie, I was immediately inspired to research the most important aspect of the movie: the fashion! I've also loved the 1920s, and seeing this movie reminded me why I'm such a Gatsby girl! Take a look at these 1920s-inspired looks I fell in love with:
This has to be the coolest thing I have ever seen. It's The Great Gatsby Book Clutch by Kate Spade. It looks like a book but it's actually a bag, and of course it's inspired by the greatest American novel ever to be written (Is that a stretch? I think not).
Carey Mulligan was the perfect Daisy Buchanan. The chemistry between her and Leonardo DiCaprio (love him!) was spot on, and as a Gatsby geek, I could not have asked for a better adaptation of the movie. But, as always, the best part of the movie was admiring the amazing costume design (over 2000 costumes were designed for the party scenes alone!) and longing to be a 1920s socialite!
